Almond Soy – Very Modern Social Misfits Fire Up At Jack Rabbit Slim’s

Around The Sound took to Jack Rabbit Slim’s for the homecoming of Perth indie-pop band Almond Soy following their first national tour. As we headed inside, people were trying on merch and flowing into the venue to gear up for the show.

“We literally came straight from the airport not long ago,” said guitarist, James Stockbridge, in the green room before the show, “and the tour’s been great, but it also good to be home.” Opening their set with Happy Ever After, the crowd danced, hands in the air, each musician focussed on their craft. Flawlessly switching between instruments, Brandon Stockbridge led the way, engaging with the audience and inviting a fan onstage to play with him.

Celebrating the release of their debut EP, Social Misfit, a collection of varying indie rhythms, the band plan on releasing will launch a new single, I Could Be The One, on Saturday, February 17, at Mojo’s.

They finished the night with an crowd-requested encore. We look forward to seeing and hearing more from Almond Soy soon. Be sure to check out their EP across all good platforms.
