Beginning on Saturday 13 July, at Badlands Bar, Around The Sound will present the first in a series of showcases of the very best live music from Perth, WA and beyond.
“We’ve been writing about and promoting local music for more than two and a half years,” said Andrew Thompson, founder of Around The Sound, “and we want to start showcasing that music and helping bring local bands to new audiences.”
“We have a killer line up for our first ‘Around The Sound presents…’ show with Datura4, The Limbs, Paige McNaught Experience, Band Of Missfits and Maverick all jumping at the chance to be part of this showcase.”
“We’ve called it ‘Boogie Night’ and we want you all to get down to Bandlands Bar and boogie with us.”
ABOUT THE LINEUP
Datura4, featuring local legend Dom Mariani, take boogie blues to new heights and play with all faders turned up to 11. Having just released their third album, Blessed Is The Boogie, the band are running hot right now and their performance will blow your mind. Since their inception DATURA4 have established an impressive live reputation and have also had the honour of opening up for the legendary ZZ Top, The Pretty Things, Endless Boogie, Earthless, Tumbleweed, X, You Am I and New Zealand guitar legend Kevin Borich.
The Limbs are undoubtedly one of the best live bands in Perth right now. With a punk furnishing, a 90’s alternative-rock interior and a shoegazey front lawn, The Limbs kick it hard every time they hit the stage.
Paige McNaught Experience will immerse you in a sonic tsunami of joy. Their gigs are
an aural beast, taking in a whole gamut of topics and emotions from love lost and won, revenge, sex, death and McNaught favourites all things aquatic and velvet.
Band Of Missfits are a WAM Award nominated five-piece from Perth who play blues infused rock that can take an audience from mesmerising ballads through to roof-raising, hook-heavy, good-time rock and roll.
Maverick deliver slick and sleek southern blues-based rock music with that classic feel of denim and sweat.
