Perth has one of the best live music scenes anywhere in the world. Bar none! Up your street cred to the max and get out to see some local product.
The Floors, Friday 13 September @ Mojos Bar
Playing power-packed scuzzy blues, The Floors are among the world’s finest. It’s no mistake they’ve chosen Friday 13th to launch their latest album; it’ll be a big night! Don’t forget to do some local celebrity spotting while you’re enjoying a pint or two at Mojo’s Bar.
Lincoln Mackinnon, Saturday 14 September @ The Aardvark
If you enjoy Paul Kelly with a touch of Weddings, Parties, Anything, you’ll love Lincoln Mackinnon. ATS recently described Mackinnon as performing “like a Delta preacher high on amphetamines.” He’s a sight to behold and the tunes are great as well.
Freakshow #9, Sunday 15 September @ Bar Four5Nine
Jamie DiFlorio, local music maven and owner of Joondalup rehearsal venue, Superfreak Studios, puts on regular all ages shows to give a first live outing to Perth’s best new bands. All are welcome and you get that chance to be the first to know about the next big thing.
The Killer Hipsters, Friday 20 September @ The Bassendean Hotel
With plenty of punk snarl and rocking tunes, The Killer Hipsters are like a cross between The Ramones and The Rolling Stones. They’re as entertaining as their name suggests and will keep the dance floor filled all night long. Excellent supports, too!
Yömi Ship, Saturday 21 September @ Rosemount Hotel
If you like a bit of prog rock, Yömi Ship are your band. Think Emerson Lake and Palmer with a dash of Pink Floyd and Muse thrown in for good measure. Again, this is a killer line up with the other stand out being Perth’s alt rock kings, The Limbs.
