BOAT SHOW BIZ

Boat Show

Making the most of their impressive 2017 momentum, Fremantle-faves Boat Show have released a new single, The Big Smoke. The song is an energetic lament on the perennial Perth-friends-moving-to-Melbourne imbroglio.

“It’s like trying to run away from a ghost that you think is haunting your house but it’s actually haunting you, so it follows,” says vocalist, Ali Flintoff. “Do you like my metaphor? I’m pretty witty, hey.”

The song was recorded in Melbourne at Black Pearl Studios with producer, Dean Tuza (The Rubens), while the band was on tour in support of their debut album, Groundbreaking Masterpiece. In fact they recorded their entire second album at Black Pearl in two days. LP #2 is set for release in October.

The Big Smoke has been released digitally and will be launched on Saturday, August 19, at The Bird with special guests Childsaint, Peter Bibby’s Dog Act and Worried About Lizards. Full details – www.facebook.com/events/2023774597851513
