Featherway Music is pleased to announce the release of Dare, the debut single from Indie band, Catbird.
The song is now available on all major music services including Spotify, Apple Music and from the band’s website, www.catbirdsongs.com.
The song, Dare is a unique single with a lot of emphasis placed on global environmental issues with some inspiration coming from Greta Thunberg and her climate change activism.
Mia Macdonald, the lead vocalist on the debut single said that “Dare is very much a relevant song to the time that we are going through right now. The message is so clear and the story that it tells is very heartfelt and very atmospheric…it’s very much a vibe. It tells its own story”.
Brendan Paniagua, the band’s guitarist summed it up nicely saying, “I would describe the song Dare as a message towards hope in an otherwise strange and sometimes brutal world”.
“It is when she insists, it is more they resist”, “dare to protest” and “we will never see a moment of the day while we’re torn apart” are just some of the powerful and thought-provoking lyrics blended with the song’s jagged but effortless rhythm.
Phil Small, the band’s other co-lead vocalist said he really enjoys the song, “it’s a folk pop song with polished production styles.”
Catbird filmed the video clip for Dare in the Blue Mountains (New South Wales, Australia) which was the perfect backdrop for the song’s lyrics as this area was devastated by the recent bushfires in the 2019-20 summer season.
The background of the video clip cleverly shows the start of the regrowth after the impacts of the bushfires. Raw, meaningful, and edgy, Dare is a call to arms urging people to focus their energies on the right causes and fight for what is right.
