Having toured nationally for the release of her last EP ‘Naive Trust’ in 2018, Cecilia Brandolini is back with a long awaited new single ‘RED’.
”I found myself on a plane, trying to escape my parent’s separation whilst chasing my own love. The lyrics poured out of me,” said Brandolini of ‘RED’.
The song opens with the lyric, I was walking down the street and I swear every time we meet, I’ll catch your eye. There’s a vulnerability in Brandolini’s voice and the hauntingly delicate piano that supports it, then, just as the story starts, the beat hits and the story takes a turn from meek to bold, You cannot come near me. The juxtaposition evokes a feeling of tug-of-war between love and anger and the power that they both hold.
