Perth’s favourite sons, The Kill Devil Hills, are about to drop a new video, Acidosis, and you can preview it right here on Around The Sound.
The clip was filmed during the The Kill Devils’ tour of Europe in 2018. and features a blink and you’ll miss it cameo from members of The Scientists, along with a smattering of frightening vignettes taken in Spain, Germany, Czech Republic and France, including the bunkers of Fort du Toulbrouch, where one of the band members accidentally stepped into a live shooting range whilst filming, only to be barked at by French soldiers.
So, not your standard rock video fare, then!
Speaking about the video, Brendon Humphries (lead vocals, guitar) said, “This time last year we found ourselves on tour putting out the PINK FIT album overseas and zooming around through various of the many picturesque and historic sites of Europe, from the island castle of Mont St Michel, to a Notre Dame that no longer exists, with nights in the Basque hills, German bunkers on the Bretagne coast, to Timothy [Nelson] almost getting shot after wandering into a military rifle range, and a raging thunderstorm during a Prague riverboat club show, meeting and callously manipulating many people along the way into joining in our dumb nodding dance (including members of the Scientists and Slim Cessna’s Auto Club). We nicknamed these ‘doing a noddie’, it’s really not very hard, most humans would struggle to mess it up. Anyway, the results are a kind of tour documentary of us posing like a pack of idiots in a variety of locations, Timothy and I continually harassing and exploiting the rest of the band (who are terribly shy on camera) into the baby steps needed in starting a new international dance craze, forget flossing, here comes nodding!”
