Perth indie folk twin sister duo, Oceanique, release their heart-warming new single, ‘Drift’ on Wednesday 21st of October, off their upcoming EP, Flowers From Home, set for release in Late February 2021.
The nostalgic and uplifting new track, laced with angelic harmonies, perfectly frames the duos direction and sound for their debut EP.
The pair are teaming up with WAM Award winner and Bridgetown powerhouse, Tracey Barnett for a regional run of ‘Double Single Launches’, to celebrate the release of both Oceanique’s new single, ‘Drift’ and Barnett’s new track ‘Darkness in the light’.
Hitting the road together on the 31st of October for their ‘Drift to the light’ Tour, they return to Perth for an official launch night in Fremantle on the 7th of November at The Sonar Room with supports, Ribs and Savanah Soloman.
Hailing from the small south coast town Walpole WA, the pair combine piano melodies with lyrics that evoke the feeling of being too safe and loved in their emotive yet warming third single.
‘Drift’ showcases Oceanique’s beautiful folk storytelling influenced by artists like Missy Higgins along with powerful sibling harmonies reminiscent of The Waifs. The track, mixed and mastered by James Newhouse and recorded by Samantha Bayliss, captures the moving lyrics and warm harmonies Oceanique are becoming known for.
Twin Sisters, Maddy and Jess will take you on a journey to the south west as their sound is enriched with hometown soil and the beauty of regional Western Australia. February 2020 saw Oceanique take the next step in their music career with a second single release ‘Grandmothers Shelf’ paired with a regional tour.
‘Drift’ highlights the Oceanique’s growth as musicians and is just a tantalising taste for what’s to come off their debut EP.
