PLACID – PSYCHOTROPIC

Placid

In early 2019, 3 entities from the Perth Hills WA, regrouped and realigned as a trio – PLACIDMild by name, Wild by Nature.

Since releasing their first single ‘S.O.B’ earlier this March, PLACID have conjured up they’re latest EP ‘PSYCHOTROPIC’ and it is now ready for human consumption. “Psychotropic” is 5 track EP that ticks just over 20 mins in total, a swirling kaleidoscope of flavours gritty yet soaring vocals, droning crispy pack-a- punch basslines, grungy filthy but luscious ambient driven guitars and a rock-solid driving wild rhythmic splatter.

Baccy Jaker (Vocals & Bass), BJ Jones (Guitars) & Jim ‘Moustachio’ Holmes (Drums/Kazoo)
Deliver their brand of melodic, dynamic, juxta opposed mesh of Psychedelic Grunge Garage Post-Punk, also simply known as ‘Rust’ rock. Drawing from the likes of early Joy Division, Stone Roses, Black Sabbath and Alice In Chains, blended with modern-day heavy psychedelic bands such as ORB and Bitch Diesel just to name a few.

All the above is best captured in their live natural habitat, which all goes down 15th November at The Den, Inglewood (Civic hotel). Alongside special guests Nervous Now, Scatterback & Black River Ransom.
