Velvet-voiced troubadour ROB SNARSKI will perform his first solo WA show in almost three years when he plays The Bassendean Hotel on Friday, November 9. Special guest for the show will be fellow ex-pat Catherine Traicos, who’ll be making a return to Perth to showcase her acclaimed latest album Luminaire. Rob will also be playing a free entry arvo show at the Fremantle Arts Centre on the following Sunday.
Primarily known as the singer with our national treasures The Blackeyed Susans, he’s also a part-time hired gun, having toured Europe as guest vocalist with The Triffids and with The Go-Betweens for the 16 Lovers Lane performances. In 2017, Rob published a whimsical collection of vignettes You’re Not Rob Snarski – Crumbs From The Cake with book launches throughout the country.
Expect an intimate evening of golden songs, haunting and elusive – from his acclaimed solo release Wounded Bird, mixed with shimmering new tunes, a chapter or two from his book, several covers from Low Fidelity, and perhaps a song from Chad’s Tree, The Triffids … or The Go-Betweens. In short … expect the past, the present and the future.
Tune into RTRFM this Monday from 7am to hear Rob having a chat with Taylah Strano on Breakfast.
