The best part about going to any gig is the feeling of anticipation, it’s like everyone is buzzing, a hive of humans waiting to see one of their favourite acts.

The local group have had a busy year touring, writing a new album and releasing their EP Skin, the reason for Friday night’s gig at Badlands.

Selling out the whole venue they jumped on stage with Beach from their 2012 album, the one that made them a household name.

The whole audience sang along and danced, it was hot, the dancing as well as the temperature.

Smashing out SloMo, it was like time froze as the audience was captivated by the dance moves of lead singer, Jordi Davieson.

The Freo locals shared some top-secret new songs from their album, set to be released next year. hey had a more folky vibe then their previous albums, maybe they are changing their sound as they try and find a permanent fourth member of the band?

Playing their latest track, Skin, Davieson took a moment and spoke to the audience.

“Nothing better than writing a song, singing a song, releasing a song and you guys singing it back to me.”

Finishing their set with Run, the audience were begging for more as the cheers didn’t stop until they jumped back on stage for encore.

The final song they played was Too Much Time, maybe it wasn’t enough time for the audience as they seemed solemn as the lights came up.

The audience seemed to love the set, however it seemed like the band might not enjoy playing as much as they used to, even for a home-town show finishing their tour.

It could be after a tiring tour, or the anticipation of a new album, I guess only time will tell.
