In mid-March, Selfish Sons sold out both their Sydney and Melbourne shows for their single tour. Sadly they had to cancel what was expected to be a massive homecoming show in Brisbane due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“‘Uuuuuge rock. Ready for the stadium.”
(Gemma Pike, Triple J)
To give something back to their fans who supported them so far on their journey, they are releasing a film clip for the recently released anthemic rock single ‘Sleep’.
The clip makes use of film-grain/ vhs player effects over a compilation of tour footage and in-studio performance. This grunge-rock aesthetic aligns perfectly with the dynamics of the track that delicately balance cool, calm verses with explosive choruses that are tied together with an anthemic motif – making it a moving, feel-good and optimistic track.
The single ‘Sleep’ (released in February) received support from theMusic, AU Review,Scenestr, AAA Backstage, community radio and many more.
The band has also previously supported international acts including Twin Peaks (USA) as well as upcoming Australian artists such as IVEY,Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird, Tyne-James Organ and The Vanns.
Selfish Sons hope to be back soon with new music for their fans. For now, fans can show their support by purchasing Selfish Sons merch at http://www.selfishsons.com/shop.
