PORT FAIRY FOLK FESTIVAL’S ARTISTS OF THE YEAR IN PERTH FOR ONE SHOW ONLY NEXT FRIDAY

Chris While and Julie Matthews

6 April 2018, Fremantle Workers Club, Fremantle Oval

Renowned British folk duo, Chris While and Julie Matthews play the National Folk Festival this weekend on the final leg of their east-coast Australian tour before heading west for their only WA show next week.

Earlier this month, Chris and Julie were presented with their Artist of the Year award at Port Fairy Folk Festival. To see what the British duo thought of this accolade, and the Maton hand-crafted guitar they were awarded, click here.

“The tour has been incredible so far,” the two said.

“We have loved the huge stages at festivals such as Port Fairy right down to the intimate house concerts and everything in between. The audiences have thrilled and motivated us with their enthusiasm and generous energy which fuels us and raises our energy levels too.

“So off we go to Canberra for the National Festival this weekend where we will catch up with more of our pals and sing more of our songs. We are looking forward to playing with Liz Frencham again and Ken Nicol too.

“Next Tuesday we will head west to our beloved Fremantle, which we missed three years ago so, can’t wait to come back!”
