THE BOOK OF MORMON – CROWN THEATRE PERTH

THE BOOK OF MORMON
CROWN THEATRE PERTH
4 SEPTEMBER

Trey Parker and Matt Stone never seem to be able to do wrong. From South Park to Baseketball to Team America, they’ve just gotten funnier and funnier over the last 20 odd years. The Book of Mormon is their crowning achievement. I had the chance to see it at Crown Theatre on opening night and it was the funniest live show I have ever seen.

Can I shill this any harder? Yep. Go see it. If you don’t, you are missing out on an experience that you’ll never forget.

I know I am a pretty positive reviewer. It would take a lot to disappoint me. The Book of Mormon has been dubbed the funniest musical of all time and now I know why. I can’t sit here and tell you what happens because I’m adamant that everybody go see for themselves! No spoilers here: It’s playing until 17 November so you have plenty of time but tickets are selling fast.

What I will say is that this is a whole lot of ridiculous fun. The dancing, the dialogue, the pushing of boundaries that would get PC snowflakes up in arms – this is their bread and butter.

The cast were tremendous. Their singing voices are like something out of Disney! Just when I thought they couldn’t hit a more impressive note, they would go even further. Many props to performers Tigist Strode, Nyk Bielak, and Blake Bowden for their unbelievable abilities. This cast is the cream of the crop and I could not fault one second of their performance and delivery, nor fault one piece of the show.

This is flawless and this is a masterpiece. The Book of Mormon is further confirmation to me that Trey and Matt are getting better and better and show no signs of slowing down. I found the songs to be very well written; it must be so hard to come up with what they came up with, but they nailed it. My friend Daniel and I had tears streaming down our faces and our faces hurt from laughing and smiling. That is the epitome of joy.

Can I shill this any harder? Yep. Go see it. If you don’t, you are missing out on an experience that you’ll never forget.

Tickets are available through https://bookofmormonmusical.com.au/ and prices range from $50 on selected dates, and upwards of $150. Go. Do it now. Don’t have that bad case of FOMO. I’m going a second time later this month because it was that good!
